Invisalign

Have you ever wished for a straight, beautiful smile, but simply can't imagine wearing braces? If so, then look no further than Invisalign. East Peoria Dental Group is proud to offer Invisalign to our East Peoria, Peoria, Pekin, Washington, Metamora and Morton patients. We have been straightening teeth cosmetically for years using Six Month Braces, but now we are also providing an invisible alternative! Dr. Hudson and Dr. Zimdars are fully accredited Invisalign providers that have helped hundreds of Peoria area patients get beautiful smiles, and they can help you to do the same!

Why is Invisalign a Great Choice?

Invisalign’s technology allows you to straighten your teeth with a series of clear, customized, removable trays. They are virtually invisible, which makes them a great option for people who are in the public eye. And they are extremely effective! Invisalign can effectively treat a wide variety of cases, including crowding, spacing, crossbites, overbites and underbites. Our office is able to treat much more challenging smiles than we ever could with metal braces!

East Peoria Dental Group is a preferred provider for Invisalign braces.

The Benefits of Clear Braces:

  • Straightens your teeth without the need for unsightly metal braces
  • Allows you to eat whatever foods you enjoy
  • Allows you to brush and floss your teeth normally
  • Consists of smooth plastic that is more comfortable to the gums than metal braces
  • Fewer appointments and emergencies than metal braces

How Does It Work?

Using modern 3-dimensional imaging technology, a customized set of aligners is made for you. You wear each individual aligner for 2 weeks, before moving on to the next aligner. As you switch aligners, your teeth gradually and comfortably shift toward the desired position of your new beautiful smile. The number of aligners and time of treatment is unique to each person and what movements their teeth need to get into ideal position.

What Conditions Can Invisalign Treat?

Our doctors can help you with a number of conditions using Invisalign:

Overbite

This condition can cause pain in the jaw and jaw joints. The lower teeth suffer more wear and the teeth are susceptible to fractures.

Crowded Teeth

When the jawbone does not provide enough room for all your teeth, they can become overly crowded.

Underbite

This also causes more wear on the lower teeth as well as pain in the jaw and jaw joints.

Gaps Between Teeth

Spacing issues can occur for different reasons. There is more chance of gum disease when there are gaps.

Open Bite

This condition occurs when opposing teeth do not touch when the bite is closed. Chewing may be painful, and the jaw joint may have problems.

Crossbite

This condition occurs when upper teeth are positioned on the inside of the lower teeth when the bite is closed. This can cause additional wear on teeth and increase the possibility of gum
disease.

How Do I Get Started With Invisalign?

Dr. Hudson or Dr. Zimdars will start by taking x-rays, digital photographs, and impressions of your teeth. From these, they can tailor the treatment plan which will take your current state of alignment to one that is straight and beautiful. Depending on your individual dental case, they will be able to tell you the approximate length of time needed to achieve results. Once the treatment plan is developed, all of your customized clear aligner trays will be fabricated, and sent to our office to be given to the patient.

How Do I Wear My Clear Trays?

Each tray is worn for approximately 2 weeks. The trays are instructed to be worn FULL-TIME, meaning as close to 24 hours a day as possible. They can be taken out to eat and brush your teeth, and then should be placed back in the mouth. They are very simple to insert and remove into the mouth.

How Often Do I Have To Come For Appointments?

Our doctors evaluate Invisalign patients once every 6 weeks. The appointments are quick and painless, and ensure your customized aligner trays are still fitting properly and the teeth are straightening as they should.

The Cost of Invisalign

Invisalign may cost anywhere from $4,000 to $6,000 for patients in the Peoria, IL area. The cost will depend on the office, the experience of the doctor, and the complexity of the case. Here at East Peoria Dental Group, we offer a complimentary no-obligation consultation to determine if Invisalign is right for you. By examining your case, we are better able to let you know your costs to have Invisalign treatment. You may be surprised to learn that the price of Invisalign is actually quite comparable to the cost of traditional wire braces done by an orthodontist.

Does insurance cover Invisalign?
If you have dental insurance, we can contact your provider to find out if they cover part of your Invisalign treatment. Many dental insurance plans cover at least some of the cost for Invisalign treatment.

Can I get financing for Invisalign?
If you don’t have dental insurance, or your plan does not cover Invisalign, there are other ways to help you pay for your treatment. We offer CareCredit, which can allow patients to make monthly payments on the procedure (many times at 0% interest!). Please contact us to learn more. We also offer our Dental Savings Plan for those without dental insurance, which can be used to receive a discount on the Invisalign treatment.
