All-on-4 Dental Implants

All-on-4 Dental Implants

Your smile is the first thing everyone sees, and missing teeth can be embarrassing. Many patients suffer from missing or damaged teeth, and have lost their ability to chew properly. In addition, their confidence is affected because of how their teeth look. If you have lost confidence or are unhappy with your smile, dental implants may be right for you.

Dental implants restore your smile and give patients bright white teeth you can be proud to show off. Not only do implants correct the cosmetic appearance of your teeth, they are durable and last for years if taken care of properly. Taking that first step towards a new smile can help change your appearance, and keep your teeth and mouth in good health.

What Are Dental Implants?

Dental implants are a popular choice for tooth restoration and give patients long lasting results. Implants are similar to artificial tooth roots that replace missing teeth. They create a strong base of support for artificial teeth or crowns. Once the implant is placed a crown is attached securely. Implants create a permanent solution for missing teeth, and help to stabilize the jawbone. Dental implants prevent bone loss and are comfortable in the mouth making implants a great solution that improves your appearance and overall health.

What Are All-on-4 Dental Implants?

All-on-4 implants provide patients with dental implants in only one appointment in our dental office in East Peoria, IL. All-on-4 implants are also known as teeth in a day, and are a fixed denture that is typically supported by 4 implants. All-on-4 implants do not require an implant for each tooth making this an easy process.

Four implants are precisely placed at the top and bottom of your mouth to give you a fully restored smile. The implants fuse to your jawbone and create a strong base of support for your new teeth. Implants are a permanent solution that lasts for years, and can help your facial structure as well as your oral health.

There are many options available for full-arch tooth replacement. Whether you choose All-on-4 or Teeth-in-a-Day, both systems will give you beautiful and durable results. All-on-4 can replace an entire arch of teeth in one day using minimal implants. Teeth-in-a-Day can also replace not only a full arch, but individual missing teeth as well. This system can also create dental bridges if needed using implants. All of these systems are great solutions for missing teeth, and our team will help you decide what option is best for you.

How Does The Process Work?

During our first consultation we will discuss your concerns and smile goals. We will take scans to give our team the ability to take a detailed look inside your mouth. Our team will recommend a treatment plan and answer any questions or concerns you may have. When you return for your implant appointment we will strategically place the implants and prosthetic. With All-on-4 the implants are complete in one day and patients are never without teeth. Confidence is restored immediately, and can begin to enjoy their new beautiful smile.

Imagine: Loving Your Smile

Modern advances in dentistry now allows us to rebuild an entire set of upper or lower teeth on as few as 4 to 6 dental implants. This procedure, known as All-On-Four or Teeth In a Day, has the remarkable ability to improve your smile and your confidence. Better yet, it’s typically done in one day and one procedure*.

How is this done? Dental implants are placed strategically in the jaw and anchor the new teeth to be permanently secured to your mouth the same day they are placed. Typically, dental implants do not have teeth placed on them the same day. However because the implants in this procedure help to stabilize each other, we can secure the teeth on to the implants the day we place them.

Imagine: Eating The Foods You Love Again

Many people who have lost teeth or have teeth that are breaking down can struggle to eat and enjoy the foods they once loved. Steak, corn on the cob, nuts. Dental implants can allow you to have full function and eat whatever foods you want, and eat them comfortably!

Cost of Dental Implants

Dental implants are hands down the best option out there to replace missing teeth. Like anything that is the best, implant treatment is not cheap but instead a significant investment in your long term wellness. Establishing monthly payment plans is very common for our patients getting dental implant procedures. Our office works with several finance companies and will work with you to develop a payment plan to fit your budget.

All dental implant patients have varying needs of care, and thus costs for implant treatments are extremely variable. An examination and planning session is needed to determine an accurate cost for each individual.

Sounds Too Good To Be True. What’s the Catch?

These really are amazing procedures, but there are some things you should know as a potential patient.

The first thing is even though we are placing your teeth the same day as the surgery, you do not get to have full chewing functionality right away. Compare this to a knee replacement surgery. Your surgeon will not let you go running the next day. You have to allow the area to heal properly and walk before you run. Dental implants are no different.

You should remain on a soft diet for the first three months following surgery. Such a diet allows time for the implants to integrate with your mouth. If you chew hard or crunchy foods, you may damage your implants and cause pain to your gums and jaw. This could necessitate another round of surgery to repair the issue. Foods you can enjoy include:

  • Apple sauce
  • Broiled fish
  • Cooked fruits
  • Ice cream
  • Macaroni, pasta, and rice
  • Mashed potatoes
  • Oatmeal
  • Pancakes, muffins, waffles, and soft loaf bread
  • Protein shakes
  • Pudding and yogurt
  • Scrambled eggs
  • Soft cooked vegetables
  • Soups with small, soft ingredients

Next, the set of teeth we place the day of your procedure are not the permanent set of teeth. It requires several follow up appointments after you have properly healed to design and create your long lasting permanent teeth. These visits are pain free and simple and allow us to fine tune and make your beautiful smile even better and much more durable.

Lastly, this is not a one and done service. Just like your own teeth, these teeth will require annual maintenance to keep them healthy and to ensure you get a long lasting product. This maintenance is relatively inexpensive, but does cost more than your typical teeth cleaning/check up (because it’s more work for the dentist office/team).
