Your surgeon will not let you go running the next day. You have to allow the area to heal properly and walk before you run. Dental implants are no different.
You should remain on a soft diet for the first three months following surgery. Such a diet allows time for the implants to integrate with your mouth. If you chew hard or crunchy foods, you may damage your implants and cause pain to your gums and jaw. This could necessitate another round of surgery to repair the issue. Foods you can enjoy include:
- Apple sauce
- Broiled fish
- Cooked fruits
- Ice cream
- Macaroni, pasta, and rice
- Mashed potatoes

- Pancakes, muffins, waffles, and soft loaf bread

Next, the set of teeth we place the day of your procedure are not the permanent set of teeth. It requires several follow up appointments after you have properly healed to design and create your long lasting permanent teeth. Lastly, this is not a one and done service. Just like your own teeth, these teeth will require annual maintenance to keep them healthy and to ensure you get a long lasting product.
